…born in Passaic, NJ but largely raised in the small town of Penns Grove, NJ—Khalil always had dreams of being an actor. His desire to be a performer was inspired by the drive & success of his older brother, rapper Seven Shawn of the hip-hop group World Renown (Warner Bros Records). But time was of the essence for this young kid with big dreams living in a small town. However in high school, he was determined to discover new talents. Therefore, he made weekly commutes from his suburban home in Penns Grove, NJ to study acting in Philadelphia, PA. While in training, Khalil had the opportunity to work as a background talent in the film ‘Beloved’ starring Oprah Winfrey-- and this is when he was truly “bit by the bug”. Later, Khalil enrolled into Rutgers University and majored in Journalism. But after three years of college it all continuously felt quite arid for him; while the thought of becoming an actor felt most fulfilling. Therefore, with no experience & very little training, Khalil daringly withdrew from college & redirected his goals towards that ever pressing dream. His aspirations fueled by his will to achieve proved most successful when he landed the leading role on his very first audition.

Khalil made his professional acting debut in 2004 as Cougar in Happy Birthday Madam Alberta (Cherry Lane Theatre). He continuously landed roles on stage and in various student film productions. After his first year of working solely on raw instinct, he decided to receive professional actor training from the infamous William Esper Studio, NYC.

Some of his other theatre credits include Ruined (Florida Studio Theatre), Six Degrees of Separation (Playhouse on the Green), A Soldier’s Play, The Religious Hour and A Soldier’s Death. He has starred in commercials for Guinness Stout, Charter Communications, Burger King ,Cablevision & Rush Card --just to name a few. He has been featured on the international show The Real Hustle on Court TV. Some of his independent film roles include The Rubix, The Gallery,  A Long Road, A Playa’s Web & Retribution: Nina.

With over ten years experience as a social service counselor, Khalil channels his passion for studying human behavior into his experience in the world of acting. His ultimate goal is to establish himself as a respected actor on all mediums in the entertainment industry.

He credits his drive & determination to his grandparents, Deacon Lester & Carolyn Williams…is most grateful to his parents for introducing him to Broadway at a very young age & supporting his dream…and thanks to Karen L. Gunn for “taking a chance on this Jersey boy!”

Khalil is an ensemble member of The Collective- NY
